題榴花 朱熹

五月榴花照眼明，枝間時見子初成。

可憐此地無車馬，顛倒蒼苔落絳英。

The Pomegranate Blossom        Zhu Hei (1130-1200)

In the fifth month the pomegranate blossom cuts a conspicuous figure of crimson glamour,

Amid the sprays early pomegranate fruits begin to appear,
What a pity visitors are scarce in this remote area,
Fallen petals are left to mess up with the moss with the beautiful blossoms uncared.

觀書有感        朱熹 (1130 -1200)

半畝方塘一鑑開，天光雲影共徘徊。

問渠那得清如許？為有源頭活水來。

Inspirations upon reading           Zhu Xi (1130 -1200)

Half an acre of a pond spreads out like a clear mirror,

On it sky lights, cloud shadows all briskly share,
How you stay so limpid, I enquire,
“Just let living water keep coming to my font as ever.”

勝日尋芳泗水濱，無邊光景一時新。

等閒識得東風面，萬紫千紅總是春。

A spring day         Zhu Xi (1130-1200)

On a bright spring day I gallivant along River Si savouring the vernal splendours,

The complexion of the boundless scenery has taken on fresh new colours,
Not anybody can tell what it’s like basking in the vernal zephyr,
Yet everyone can tell from the myriad flowers in all colours that spring is flushing in entire.

泛舟 朱熹

泛舟      朱熹 (1130 -1200)

昨夜江邊春水生，艨艟巨艦一毛輕。

向來枉費推移力，此日中流自在行。

Boating      Zhu Xi   (1130 -1200) 

Last night vernal tides swelled in the river,
A giant ship now floats there like a piece of feather,
Efforts to move it in the past were all squandered,
Today it sails freely mid-stream with everything in its favour.
