靜夜四無鄰，荒居舊業貧。
雨中黃葉樹，燈下白頭人。
以我獨沉久，愧君相見頻。
平生自有分，況是霍家親。

In the dead quiet of the night far from any neighbourhood in the vicinal,

Living in desolate destitute as I have no inherited chattels,
Amidst the rain trees stand with leaves shriveled,
Sitting under the lamp is an old man with hair grizzled,
Wretched and fallen I’ve long dawdled,
Ashamed and grateful to your being always so mindful and heedful,
Maybe together we are fated to fall,
Moreover we are both kinsmen of the Huo household.
