日暮 杜甫

日暮   杜甫 (712-770)
牛羊下來久,各已閉柴門。
風月自清夜,江山非故園。
石泉流暗壁,草露滴秋根。
頭白燈明裏,何須花燼繁。

A Snapshot of Dusk         Du Fu (712-770)

Herds of cows and sheep have long returned from the wild,
Wicker doors of the households have also closed,
Amidst the soothing cool wind the clear autumnal moon highly and brightly glows,
Here the landscape is so picturesque despite it is not my homeland of old,
Over the rocky wall the spring water splashingly flow,
From the grasses autumnal dews sparklingly dangle,
Under the lamp my hoar hair is even more ostensible,
Hope is bleak for me to return to homeland so I don’t have to look out for flare knob omens from my lamp candle.
