茂陵多病後，尚愛卓文君。
酒肆人間世，琴台日暮雲。
野花留寶靨，蔓草見羅裙。
歸鳳求凰意，寥寥不復聞。

The Amorous Qin Chamber      Du Fu (712-770)

After ailing Sima Xiangru fell,

He was still fervently in love with Lady Zhuo the captivating belle,

Ignoring the scoff of the world, they ran a bistro for their livelihood,

Now the Qin Chamber hangs desolately in the sulks,

Lady Zhuo had long left this world,

The wild flowers teeming around the chamber relive the lady’s enchanting smiles,

And the twiners her dress of emerald,

When Sima Xiangru romantically played the amorous tune of the Phoenix Courting His Mate and captured the heart of Lady Zhuo,

Ever since nobody had ever been so outright gallantly audacious to sue his affaire d’amour.
