孤雁不飲啄 , 飛鳴聲念群。
誰憐一片影 , 相失萬重雲?
望盡似猶見 , 哀多如更聞。
野鴉無意緒 , 鳴噪自紛紛。
The Solitary Wild Goose Du Fu (712-770)
Neither drink
nor feed does the solitary wild goose,
Strenuously it
keeps flying and calling for its shoal,
Such a
pitiable solitary soul,
Lost amidst an
ocean of thousand layers of clouds,
Looking to the
farthest most its shoal seem to be within its eyeful,
It even seems
able to hear their responding calls,
All these is
beyond the wild crows,
They just keep
cawing for their own gambol.
