山居秋暝     王維 (701 -761)

空山新雨後，天氣晚來秋。

明月松間照，清泉石上流。
竹喧歸浣女，蓮動下漁舟。
隨意春芳歇，王孫自可留。

An autumn evening at my cottage in the hills                         Wang Wei (701 -761)

After the new rain in the desolate highs,

Brought by the evening air autumn arrives,
Among the pines the bright moon shines,
Over the rocks clear spring water rides;
Clamours amidst the bamboos see the laundry girls respire,
Fishing boats roll on leaving lotuses flutter,
Vernal verdure retreats on nature’s order,
Glamour-chasing noblesse may still hang around as they aspire.
