晚春        韓愈 (768- 824)

草木知春不久歸，百般紅紫鬥芳菲。

楊花榆莢無才思，惟解漫天作雪飛。

Flowers and foliage know spring will not stay forever,

So they put on their best colours vying for vernal glamour,
Only willows and elms are not as brilliant to cut a conspicuous figure,
They just let willow down and elm husk like snowdrift in the wind that flitter.
