蘭葉春葳蕤 ，桂華秋皎潔。

欣欣此生意 ，自爾為佳節。
誰知林棲者 ，聞風坐相悅。
草木有本心 ，何求美人折。

The leaves of the spring orchid flush with virid brilliance,

The autumnal osmanthus blossoms gleam with unsullied radiance,
All this luxuriance emanating brisk vitality,
Makes up the seasonal delights and beauty;
For the recluse relishing life in the woods and valleys,
Must also find this delightful and fare pleasantly,
Even plants adhere to their natural properties,
Never would they allow themselves to be bent by anybody in whatever capacity.
