木蘭花        錢惟演 (962-1034)

城上風光鶯語亂，城下煙波春拍岸。

綠楊芳草幾時休，淚眼愁腸先已斷。
情懷漸變成衰晚，鸞鑒朱顏驚暗換。
昔年多病厭芳尊，今日芳尊惟恐淺。

The scenery is fascinating on the city wall,

Excited orioles twitter in a snarl,
Enshrouded in mists the azure water caresses the shores with enchanting riffles,
The rankly spread lush grasses and the green green willows,
Won’t take long for them to shrivel,
All these break my heart and tears in my eyes dribble,
As I am growing old and frail,
Hardly can I find myself again in the mirror in days of old,
In my ailing days, however fine the wine I dared not revel,
Today, I just care I can’t drink enough to have my anguish quelled.
