富貴本無心，何事故鄉輕別？
空使猿驚鶴怨，誤薜蘿秋月。

囊錐剛要出頭來，不道甚時節﹗
欲駕巾車歸去，有豺野狼當轍﹗

It’s never been my disposition to seek imperial honour and power,

For what have I left my homeland and forth fare,
Leaving the apes and herons there raging with rancor,
And the affections of the climbing figs on my house and the lovely moon riding the soothing zephyr there to ignore,
Through bags awls are bound to bore,
Salvaging our state the time now is just improper,
I’d ride my barouche back to my homeland,
If not for the howling jackal at the road this hour.
