吳山青，越山青，
兩岸青山相對迎，誰知離別情？
君淚盈，妾淚盈，
羅帶同心結未成，江邊潮已平。

Green green are the hills of Wu, north of the river,

Green green as well are the hills of Yue, south of the river,
On both banks they stand ceremoniously to attend on peoples’ fares,
Do they really understand the sorrows of sunder?
Tears in your eyes are on the simmer,
So are my eyes with tears,
However deeply we love each other,
We cannot have the knot tied forever,
Now the tide is on the surge,
It’s time your boat weigh anchor.
