雨恨雲愁，江南依舊稱佳麗。

水村漁市，一縷孤煙細。
天際征鴻，遙認行如綴。
平生事，此時凝睇，誰會憑闌意。

Gloomy clouds convulsed with resentful drizzles overhanging all day,

Can’t detract the beauty and fascination of the scenery South of the River at any rate,
Fishing hamlets there dot the tortuous waters and bays,
Ribbons of cooking smoke hovering over the households enhances the enchanting picture portrayed.
Wayfaring wild geese files seem like a sewn array,
I try to mull over my life in the past days,
Who’d guess at my mind as I lean on the high balustrade.
