過香積寺         王維  (701-761)

不知香積寺，數里入雲峰，  

古木無人徑，深山何處鐘。  
泉聲咽危石，日色冷青松，
薄暮空潭曲，安禪制毒龍。  

Passing the Incense Replete Temple      Wang Wei (701-761)

Where is the Incense Replete Temple settled,

A few miles into the mountains amidst cloud shrouded pinnacles,
Ancient trees there line the deserted trail,
Bell peals come from nowhere deep in the mountain vales,
Craggy rocks chime in spring water spluttering wails,
The sun casts on the pine trees a tint of frosty chill,
At dusk by the serene pool,
I sit practising the Buddhist meditation to arrest my inner evils.
