秦州雜詩     杜甫 (712-770

鳳林戈未息，魚海路常難，  

候火雲峰峻，懸軍幕井乾。  
風連西極動，月過北庭寒，  
故老思飛將，何時議築壇。    

A poem written in Qinzhou         Du Fu (712-770)

The military unrest in Fenglin is not yet over,

Travelling to Yuhai is still hampered,
Reaching up to the clouds are the blazing bacon fires,
Wells in the camps of our besieged army in the borders have come to expire,
The bitter winds seem to make even the west polar stars flutter,
Even the moon over the chilly northern borders seem to quiver,
The old folks are all dreaming of having another Flying General Li Guang to protect our borders,
Whenever will this talismanic general appear?
