Night booze in Youzhou         Zhang Yue (667-730)

Night rains come with scathing chilly winds,
Sagging the wintry woods and leaving the trees and plants dwindle,
Having a booze in the grand hall with my fellow generals,
Away my misgivings over my ambitions in my late years all go,
With the booze for the army sword dance is the most palatable,
Out here in the borders in tartar pipe music is what we most revel,
If I’ve not led my soldiers out to the borders in our pale,
How should I know how deeply I’ve been graced by His Imperial.
